Luckily, I have people to fix me.

Can anyone say worst weekend ever?

I think I can.

The only thing that made it better was this:

Yes, that is a 100% real black diamond ring people. Real, flawless, 2 karats of amazingness. My fiance reproposed to me with it. The first time he proposed he got me a completely fake ring, (which he later reveled to me was from WalMart (he had to propose THAT moment and couldn't wait to get money for a real ring.)) that started to turn orange after the first week of me wearing it. It was an absolutely beautiful ring, at first, but I had to start painting it with silver paint to make it look decent. This was it:

My fiance promised to get me a real forever ring eventually so I could have my coveted black diamond. But before that he purchased a ring with cubic zirconia and a sterling silver band so that I wouldn't have to paint my first ring anymore. It was only 50 bucks and looked amazing so I was thrilled. It looked like this:

So this past weekend we were going to make a trip down to Harveysburg, OH and go to the Ohio Renaissance Festival.  We went last year and it was one of the most fun things I have ever been to. So, needless to say I was pretty excited. I put on my dress that we had bought before the festival last year for incredibly cheap.  (40 bucks for a dress that rented usually for 150 a weekend...Yipee for being loyal customers at a family owned costume shop!)

Here is a pic of my dress from last year!

Unfortunatly, things didn't go as smoothly as I had planned. My fiance got into an accident, and because he knew I would freak out, he didn't tell me and was horribly late to pick me up.

I was furious.

This was supposed to be the most fun weekend of the year and I had to wait 3 extra hours for that to begin.  I was annoyed and ticked off that he couldn't be on time for this important weekend. (Being late is not an unusual thing for him, BTW, I've told him I'm gonna tell him our wedding is taking place hours before it actually is so maybe he'll be on time) When he called I told him to go home. I didn't want to talk to him right now and I would go to the Ren Fest myself. But he kept telling me that he had something really important to give me and to not make him go home. So, I gave him a chance. I went out to the lobby of the dorms to get him, since you need a key to get in, and he showed me a ring box. "In this," he said, "is your forever, 100% real, diamond ring. I want to repropose to you at the Renaissance Festival. Please don't make me go home."

Of course I complied! I love the man and I can never stay mad at him for more than 20 minutes and that time limit had almost passed.

We then headed out from northern Ohio to the place of my birth to stay with my parents. Due to a series of unfortunate events, my ankle ended up getting sprained coming down the stairs of my dad's house. Of course, it was raining as well and if any of you have ever been to the OH Ren Fest you know its basically down in a hole. So, naturally the place was flooded. I was bummed. Not only could I not go because of the rain but I couldn't do anything fun because of my ankle. So I put my coat over my head in my fiance's car and fell asleep on the way back to the northern lands.

I slept through 2 hours of driving and then I woke up to my fiance fiddling with my hand. He said, "Baby you better wake up." As he lifted my hand up to my face so I could see he asked me if I would marry him. Of course I said yes, I had already done so twice before! It wasn't as romantic as he had planned but it still worked for me. I love him so much he could have done it in a dump and I would have said yes.

Hopefully, I'll tell our children these stories one day and they will laugh at their dad.

Uncontrollable laughter.

Oh God I hope that happens! :)

Anyways, we went to a game night with a group of our friends and enjoyed the night with an hour long game of cards against humanity before Chris and I had to leave. (I think you guys know my fiance's name is Chris, if you didn't now you do!)

The next day, I laid in bed an played Pokemon X and waited for Chris to get home from work. Then when he got home we cuddled for a little while and then he came back to my college with me.

Let's back up a couple of weeks before I proceed shall we?

In one of my classes, we were assigned to do a small group project in the form of a short video and put it on youtube. I was put with two really cool girls who have amazing work ethics which made me feel very lucky compared to the other groups I have been put into in other classes. We immediately got together and started brainstorming and then filming. All our filming was done the week before it was due. Then we realized that our finished project wouldn't exactly hit the mark on the assignment unless we made some tweaks that would require some extra time.

I guess we kinda let our creativity take over, bad us (metaphorically slaps hand in punishment).

We immediately emailed the professor asking what we should do and the end result after meeting with her is that we would have to make major changes and we would get NO extension on the deadline.

Greeeeaaat.

Did I mention I was the one who owned the camera and I was the one that knew how to edit video and I was the one who was going away to the Renaissance Festival the weekend before the project was due on that way too soon following Monday?

Yep, all true.

So we came up with a plan to make shooting from separate places work and I resolved to pull an all nighter Sunday night to edit the video so I could still go to the Renaissance Festival.

Now fast forward to that Sunday.

Chris and I got back to the college from our wonderful weekend in the rain and me being in pain to go to the computer lab to download the video I had uploaded to a specific computer onto my google drive so I could then download it onto my laptop begin editing. Macs are tricky things. They only save stuff to one computer even if your school has a network sharing thingy. So my videos were ONLY on THAT mac.

Everything was going fine until I realized it was 10:50. The library closed at 11 and one of the most important videos for the project was not uploading. I had to abandon the important video segment and do without it.

Technology: 1 Roni: 0

Then, I headed back to my room and started downloading the video to my laptop. My computer started to tell me I didn't have space on my computer. I told myself No big deal I'll just go through and delete some crap. Needless to say that didn't work.

Technology: 2 Roni: 0

Then, I tried making a new drive image and that didn't have enough space either. Suddenly, an idea sprang into my head.

Alli.

OMG ALLI SHE'LL KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!

I quickly pressed the F on my contact button on my iPhone and called my best friend. She offered me her external hard drive and I swear the angels came down and started to sing. And by the way did I mention she offered to completely re-film her part in the video at midnight on a Sunday?

Yeah this is my best friend.
(By the way she has a blog, check it out here)

She completely rocks.

I then spent 6 hours editing the video and uploading it to YouTube, then taking the explanation and editing it. After sleeping for 2 hours I headed off to class with a sprained ankle, a tired mind, and a head full of prayers that I would survive that day.

So yeah, that was my weekend.

Wonderful right?

But I would like to finish this post out with two notes to two very important people in my life.

Chris,
I love you more than anything. Thank you for dealing with all my craziness. Thank you for staying up with me so I could get that darn video finished. You are the best future husband a girl could ask for.
-Roni

and

Alli,
Babe, I think I've told you this a million times, but you are amazing. I am so thankful that God put you in my life. I couldn't get through this crazy life without you.
You are an adorable winner, with dirty hair ;)

Sometimes You Just Gotta Pass the Time

Well hello there :D
I am waiting for my fiancé to get off of work so I figured I would just write a post. In case you haven't noticed my profile picture is different....It is the logo for this blog and my twitter. I doodled a concept in my psychology notebook that looked like this:

And then James of Jcconceptional turned into this:

And of course I picked the top right one!
(Just so you know you can check out James' art on his Facebook and his Wix page (GO DO IT GO DO IT RIGHT NOW))

Moving on,
I bought the new pokemon game. I have the X version which makes me a happy camper because Yvetal just doesn't appeal to me. I am not very far in it but I am in love. They made EXP Share not a held item! There is a berry field and not berry patches scattered all over the place. You get EXP even when catching a pokemon. Saving is soooo much faster. ROLLER SKATES. SO MANY POKEMON. CUSTOMIZATION.

nerdgasm

The only complaint I would have is I kinda miss only being able to move in 4 directions. Sometimes the  roller skates are just really hard to control but that is so minor I don't hardly notice it.
So yea Gen 6 is amazing.

I also have bought the additional street pass mii plaza games for the 3DS. I got them all for 16 bucks which seemed really appealing for me. That pack included: Mii Force, Flower Town, Warrior's Way, and Monster Manor. I like all of them and they are really addicting so I recommend purchasing them all. But incase you are on the fence I'll include a short review of each one here and put them in order from my most favorite to least.

  1. Monster Manor: I love that this game has so many different things in it. It may seem simple when it is first being explained to you by the rabbit who wants to sell you it but Monster Manor is so much more. You collect the puzzle pieces to fill up each floor while trying to make squares of the same color pieces so you can get chests that have weapons or power ups or magical orbs. Then you could come across a ghost or monster you have to fight. The one major thing I love is you don't need to have more than one streetpass tag at the moment to have fun in this game and progress decently. If you just have one person to help out you can still spend at least 5 minutes in this game. Other games, like Find Mii, you need at least 2 people to help if you want to make decent progress. The one complaint I would have is the instructions are not really detailed so you have to figure out a lot on your own.
  2. Flower Town: This is a very very close second. Again, I like it because you can only have one person and do a lot in the game. You also take a risk everytime you plant a seed. You could get a new breed or it can just be a new color. That is very frustrating but still that is part of the fun. You just get to sell the plant and plant a new seed and start all over again.
  3. Warrior's Way: Here you have to gain troops to conquer the world. Honestly, I should have tied this one with Mii Force at last place but there are some things I like about Warrior's Way and nothing I like about Mii Force. It is practically impossible to make such a growth in troops sometimes to conquer the next country. I understand they didn't want you to beat the game in a week but come on! One of the countries is like 200 troops and then it jumps to 1,100. The only way you can make this jump in a decent amount of time is if you get a nintendo mii coming to your 3DS and that usually only happens when they are trying to hype up a new release.
  4. Mii Force: You can't pass a level once you get past the 4th level unless you have at least 3 streetpass tags. It sucks. I literally grown every time I have to play Mii Force with one or 2 people. It just isn't an appealing game to me.
Well, my fiancé is going to be home soon so I need to get all cuddled up in bed and wait for his call. I hope you guys have enjoyed my little shameless promotion and gaming update.

THIS IS NOT THE MARVEL POST...

Nerd Treason: A True Story
(As far as I recall it...)

Once upon a time there was a twenty one year old college student looking for a job. She was a very involved nerd. She knew lots about video games so she applied to the ultimate gamer job, GameStop. She got a call two days later and was excited and nervous for her interview the following day after that. She went into the interview and shook hands with the hiring manager. A six foot, chubby, typical nerdy dude. The interview went well (he smiled and was super friendly) until he asked her who her favorite person to play video games with was. It seemed like an odd question to her but with finesse and grace she answered, "of course my fiancé."

The hiring manager's attitude completely took a 180. He now was very serious in his questions and only asked two more until he told the girl thank you and that he would call her if he decided to hire her. The manager's sudden change of attitude was very unusual to the girl but she shook it off and just attributed it to the phone call he had received in the middle of the interview.

A week later the girl came into the store to pay off her pre-order of Pokemon X when she noticed an employee in the store whom she had never seen before. She was quite familiar with the employees so she new this employee was new. The employee was a tall, lanky, girl with auburn hair. She had small gauges in her ears and a doctor who themed belt. Other than that she didn't seem like the typical nerd. But who was the girl to judge.

There was a crowd in the store and the girl got in the line. The new employee (lets call her Sarah) was helping a family of six. The mom and eldest son were at the counter while the younger children were running about the store. The son was explaining to Sarah that his Xbox didn't have enough memory to install updates on it so his Xbox live was not working anymore. The son went on to say that he was looking for something to give his xbox more memory. Sarah went into the cabinets behind the cashier station and retrieved a flash drive. The son was questioning the method of using a flash drive for his xbox and Sarah assured him it would work just fine. The college girl was freaking out inside her head. She knew that a hard drive would not work for the long term. He needed an external hard drive. She was going back and forth inside her head whether to let this transaction go ahead or to but in and risk being super rude.

She butted in.

The girl told the boy and his mother what they needed after telling them she was an avid gamer, and  that they could find a decent hard drive on amazon with lots of space for about 25 bucks. The mother turned to the Sarah and said, "Well, I think we will go online. Thank you for your help." The mother and son then went up to the college girl and thanked her. The girl got up to the front of the line soon after and paid for the rest of her preorder and then left the store with no further events.

That college girl was me (incase you haven't guessed already).

I AM LIVID THAT BIMBO NON GAMER NOT A NERD GIRL GOT HIRED OVER ME. PROBABLY JUST BECAUSE THE MANAGER WANTED TO PROBABLY GET IN HER PANTS. I AM LIVID.

My Marvel Experience: Introduction

If you have been reading my blog for a while you know this is not the first encounter with the Marvel Universe. Weirdly, I saw Iron Man 3 at a drive in this summer before I had ever been graced with the wonders of any Marvel Movie. (I also did a movie review for that which you can find here) But now, my friend Alli, who has an amazing blog called Shiznits (CLICK ON THE LINK you know you want to...), is exposing me to the entire marvel universe so that I can see Thor 2 with her when it comes out in November.

I had sworn off of seeing comic based movies after seeing the most recent Green Lantern Movie. It was just so stereotypical and predictable. But, two things, no make that three, made me change my my mind.
  1. I wanted Alli to have someone in Defiance to go see the midnight release of Thor 2 with.
  2. and 3.

Long hair is wonderful. And both of these leading men have it. SO MUCH EYE CANDY.

So yeah, friendship and long hair on men. Both things that make me the most willing person to do almost anything. And yet my fiance still won't grow his hair out.

I have decided through every Marvel Movie I am going to live tweet my reactions. You can follow me on Twitter to get the tweets in real time when I get to the movies or you can wait until I post a review on each one with tweets included. Either one is fine with me, both is better! You decide!

Well, here it goes again...

I'm back at school, yes the wonderful place that I truly call home. I have the lightest course load this semester than I have had since I came here two years ago.

Gosh, has it really been two years? I feel old.

Anyways, I hope to keep this blog updated due to the more than normal free time I have this semester. Plus, I feel it will be therapeutic after the absolutely wonderful couple of weeks I have had. (Can you tell that was sarcasm? If you couldn't now you know.) Here is some highlights:
  • I was denied into the Teacher Education Program at my school and thus had to switch majors.
    • Middle Childhood English and Math --> High School Language Arts
  • I got into my very first car accident. I rear ended a woman and her trunk now doesn't close. AND to top it all of she is a non traditional student here at my college. I feel so bad. I only looked away for a second.
    • I am very lucky that this is literally all the damage that happened.
    • As a result of this I had to pay a $139.45 to the city.
  • I joined the marching band and almost quit because I am fluffy and physically incapable. But I was convinced to come back when the director and her assistant/fiance were very understanding (okay that was a negative that turned into a positive).
    • Here are a list of my physical issues that are not under my control:
      • Bad ankle that gives out at least every hour
      • Bad knee
      • Breathing trouble (I believe my asthma is coming back)
So, now that I have gotten my pitty party out of the way I can move on.

I'm sure you are happy don't pretend like you are not.

I can't come up with anything else to say right now so here is my sort of "endslate."
(I watch a lot of youtube and that is a reference to a really awesome show I watch, MyMusic, which you can find here)

The New and The Old

Yep, I went to the drive in tonight.

If you are a fangirl of anything Marvel like my friend Alli, (You can click her name to go to her amazing blog. Go ahead, click, check it out, I'll wait)

*Ahem*

Oh yes, as I was saying, you know the picture above is from Iron Man 3. Funny thing is I have not seen one Marvel movie. I know, hiss hiss, but give me a break I'm not big into superheroes I am more of a princess girl. Of course I consider love this family of superheroes.

But I digress. Even with my lack of Marvel experience I quite enjoyed the movie. Especially the end when Pepper became quite a bad ass. Excuse my language but I could find no other way to describe it. Not only was every hair in place but she took down a Iron Man suit.

Bad Ass.

I must say the story was quite predictable and this was a disappointment. From the moment the crazy guy jumped in the elevator with Stark and his girl at that New Years Party I knew that he was going to be the bad guy. The drug addicted actor never threw me and I seriously believe that every single person in that compound thought the actor really was the terrorist. Only the necessary people knew the truth which was very smart on the blond evil mastermind dude's part. Can you tell yet I have a really bad time with names? Go see the movie you'll know who I am talking about/look at the guy in the picture above.

Two things did make this movie enjoyable, I did say I enjoyed it earlier remember?
  1. The action. Normally, I hate action scenes. Usually, in my mind, actions scenes are poorly choreographed. (Hence why I didn't like the Expendables) But, in Iron Man the scenes were very well choreographed, filmed well, and really sucked you in without making you wonder what was happening outside the shot. You know that feeling when the camera focuses on something and you wonder what else is going on outside of that? Well, I get that a lot and the filming and choreographing of the fights helped this feeling to go away. In other words, props to the behind the scenes crew of Iron Man.
  2. The thing with the Vice President. Go see the movie because if you have you will completely understand what I say next.

         Wow. Just wow.

The amount of a father's love but gosh darn it the corruption. THAT is the thing I did not
            expect.

Well, I am exhausted so this is where I say goodnight.

Welcome to Hell

Well hello people,

Well, I really don't know who I am talking to since I am not as awesome as my friend Alli whose blog, Shiznits, has 4K views. You can go here to find her blog. Go and read it. Her writing is amazing and she is truly an amazing person.

But enough of the shameless promotion of one of my closest friends, now onto the topic...

Hell. Yes, I currently live in it. What did I do to deserve it?

Nothing. But yet, I am here. But let's get more specific shall we?

My dad's house. Yes, I know, if you have read any of my past blogs he cut me off. Well, he cut me back on (is that a word or phrase? I don't know but we are going with it. cool? cool.)  My room that I am staying at over the summer is still be occupied and being the poor college student I am I couldn't rent another room and then move so I had to move home for three weeks.

It's been one week. And I've almost pulled my hair out 3 times. FML. But I swear I am not gonna dwell on this. I am just glad I have my fiancé, Chris. If I didn't have him to calm myself and my dad down over phone and facetime I don't know what I would do.

These are my pink die I got today. I am going to be playing Dungeons and Dragons a lot this summer since I will be living with a DM, AKA GOD, (she is rescuing me from hell for a fee of 600 bucks and its worth it) and I am super excited to make my own character. So I figured a good stress reliever would be to make my own D&D character w/o the rules just whatever I want for fun. This is going to be interesting since I still know very little about the game since I've only played 2 sessions but lets give it a whirl shall we?

Character Name: Lexi DunBroch(Yep I am awesome.)
Race: Elf
Identifying Feature: Long Curly Red Hair
Special Skill: Infatuating men ;)
Weapon: Bow&Arrows and Dagger
Special Item: Cordial with healing potion that never runs out.
Charisma: +20
Pet: A Female Pegasus named Fira that I can ride.

That is pretty much it at least all I can think of now. I will probably make out a real character sheet and post it on here. Goodnight <3

The Beastess and the Beast

Ok, I need to get back to this...

OMG I'M ENGAGED. It kind of feels like a Disney movie because of how fast our relationship has advanced. But it is also like a fairy tale and nearly perfect like a Disney movie. I'm 20 years old, engaged, and halfway through college. I feel so old.

Twenty million things are going through my head right now. Including but not limited to; when the heck is the girl from Poshmark with the beautiful dress going to email me back??? I really should be in bed. American Pickers playing in the background and wondering how hot my desk lamp has gotten by this point. It gets hot very quickly...I should probably get up and turn it off...nah.

My wireless keyboard for my iPad is also serving me very well. It works so amazing and it feels like my iPad is kind of like a mini laptop now. I think I might decorate the case with stickers just like my laptop. I would like to find some MLP:Friendship is Magic stickers first though :)

Which reminds me that I totally want a MLP case for my 3DS just like my friend Damon. My brony friends often ask me which pony I think I am most like...and I always really don't know. I love Twilight Sparkle's intelligence but I like AppleJack's spunk. I have the heart of Fluttershy and the bubblyness of PinkiePie. The only one I think I have nothing in common with is Rainbow
Dash which kills me because I really love her as a character. I would also love to have her as a best friend but she most certainly is not me. I am kind of tempted to message a couple of my friends and ask them what they think but it really is too late. If you read this blog and have even a remote idea of what I am saying please leave a comment and tell me what pony you are and who you think I would be.

On another totally unrelated note I saw Hansel and Gretel with my fiancé and it was AHMAZING. I will probably do a full review when it comes out on DVD just because I like to be able to rewind and analyze when I give a review. Well, that is it for now.
